Message from the Vice President
Berbera Maritime and Fisheries Academy is the only university in Somaliland that offers maritime and fisheries knowledge. The university is one of the best universities in the country. The lecturers are specialists in the fields of maritime and fisheries, and the university produces expert graduates in these fields.
Students admitted to the university are those who have completed high school, and their certificates must be A, B or C. The university does not accept students with a high school certificate of D. Since the university is a technical university, the students must have a good background in science and mathematics.
The university offers five faculties as follows:
- BSc Port and Shipping Management
- BSc Maritime Transport Technology
- BSc Marine Engineering
- BSc Fisheries and Marine Science
- BSc Logistics and Supply Chain Management
The university has well equipped laboratories and workshops where students do practical work. We regularly take students to the Berbera port to see the ships in the port and the equipment in the ships, we also take them to the DP World offices and customs offices.
As a student-oriented institution, we are committed to providing high-quality education that is tailored to the needs of our students. Our faculty members are diverse and talented, basing their teaching on the latest research and advancements in their field.
We are also proud to offer our students access to excellent university facilities, including laboratories, libraries, and workshops. These resources are designed to support students in their academic and personal pursuits.
